Renovation of an Art Deco Apartment in the City Center

Located in the heart of the city, this historic apartment underwent a complete interior renovation aimed at redefining the spatial organization and improving the flow between spaces.

The removal of the existing partitions revealed the full potential of the apartment and allowed a new reading of the volumes through a refined contemporary approach.

The project establishes a dialogue between heritage and contemporary architecture, with particular attention given to the preservation and enhancement of the apartment’s original features, including terrazzo mosaic flooring, Art Deco details and existing moldings.

These architectural elements were carefully restored and integrated into a minimalist interior composition, creating an elegant and timeless atmosphere.

The generous ceiling height was fully embraced in order to reinforce the feeling of openness and natural light throughout the apartment.

Several custom-designed glass partitions — including a folding glass wall, frosted glass panels and French-style openings — were introduced to structure the spaces while maintaining visual continuity and diffusing natural light.

This project reflects an architectural approach in which the renovation of a historic apartment reveals the intrinsic qualities of the existing building while offering a contemporary interpretation of interior living spaces.
